HOPE IS REBORN
Over the last 2 decades, civil war has brought northern regions of Uganda to its knees. Sports Outreach has been working in northern Uganda since 1999 in a city called Gulu. The vision for northern Uganda according SOI Gulu Director, Aloysius Kyazze ” Our vision for northern Uganda is to bring Christ in a more practical way. So the people can experience the healing hand of God, the compassionate hand of God, and that they can be restored, spiritually, psychologically, physically, emotionally, physically.”
The role of Sports Outreach is to serve as a catalyst as facilitators of this process of healing through the church and for Jesus Christ to be revealed in a more powerful way.

Through teaching and training, the people are learning how to sustain themselves and through this process hearing the Gospel of Jesus. Clean water wells, livestock breeding, farming, vocational training, and sports are just a few of the ways SOI works in the communities in which they serve.
SOI uses local community-based programs to help reach the people with the love of Jesus Christ. We partner with churches in Uganda and the US, as well as other like-minded organizations to help serve the needs of the people.
