The mission of Sports Outreach Institute (SOI) is to...

...identify and train committed Christian leadership in the effective use of sports ministry, in the spreading of the Gospel message, and in alleviating human suffering. 

Founded three decades ago with the goal of reaching the poorest communities around the world through the love and hope of the Gospel of Jesus, God has grown SOI to now encompass over 100 staff members serving internationally with emphasis on Africa and Mexico, and among some of the poorest immigrant groups in America. 

From the slums and villages of East Africa to the streets of Mexico and America, leaders are being raised up and trained and lives are being forever changed through SOI projects. We strive to empower people through sustainable, practical and burden lifting projects aimed at restoring hope and transforming communities.

We employ 5 major ministry projects throughout each of our ministry locations.  At the core of every ministry project is the goal of evangelism and discipleship.

• Sports Ministry - Sports programs for children and young adults of all ages with biblical teaching provided after practices and games; training of leaders in the sports ministry model of evangelism and discipleship.
• Teaching - Church plants abroad and in America offering biblical teaching and daily discipleship, and providing schools and scholarship programs for children and adults.
• Feeding - Over one million meals per year are fed to East African children in need; families in America are connected with reduced-cost food programs.    
• Training - Practical job training and micro-finance loans to help families achieve a sustainable lifestyle.
• Public Health - Assistance with public health through various methods including education and training, help with financial assistance and medicine costs, access to clothing and blankets, and ministry of compassion to HIV/AIDS victims.
