Anna was a lifelong resident of the Ashland community, a graduate of Patrick Henry High School ‘07 and a rising senior at Lynchburg College. She was the starting goalkeeper for the women’s soccer team and earned All-State honors in 2009. Anna’s life was cut short in a tragic car accident in 2010.
Anna’s love for life and others brought many people together to raise funds for a well at Koro Farm in Gulu, Uganda that is dedicated in her memory. This well dramatically changed the lives of the people it serves. They have clean water to drink and enough water to irrigate crops during the dry season so that food is more readily available.
The Women of Worth Project is a mentorship project of the University of Lynchburg’s Women’s Soccer Team. 12 young women from the Koro Farm community are sponsored by the team to provide them with continuing care and education with the belief, “If you educate a woman you educate a nation”. The young women are mentored by the ULWS team and funds raised pay for their education and care.
Help us remember Anna by following her life’s example of reaching out, helping others and offering hope!
