At the end of October, Lynchburg College hosted SOI’s first ever banquet!  It was a wonderful evening celebrating the ministry with a dinner held in the ballroom of Lynchburg College. A variety of speakers, ranging from SOI short term missionaries to a Lynchburg College professor instrumental in our Public Health project shared inspiring messages.

An African style dinner featuring dishes from different regions of the continent was served buffet style and the tables were decorated with African dyed fabric (made at the Kampala School for Disabled Children) and small carved wooden animals made in Uganda.

The Lynchburg community has been a supportive base for SOI from the beginning; our staff and the people served by SOI are thankful for such a strong community partnership.  We’d like to say a special thank you to the table hosts as well as the many people who dedicated their time and energy to make the evening a success.
