The second annual Santa Barbara Century Ride was held on October 22, 2011 and with over 800 riders.  This event is a unique and challenging opportunity for riders to travel through the beautiful and rugged landscape of Santa Barbara.  SOI was once again honored to be a recipient of the event proceeds. 

The donation from this year’s event will be directed toward the SOI’s education projects in Kampala and Gulu, Uganda and Nairobi.  This project funds vocational and educational costs for hundreds of African children and young people.   

We’d like to say thank you to all the ride participants as well as all the SOI volunteers who cheered the riders on and shared the story of SOI with the people at the event.  Our partnership with the Santa Barbara community has enabled SOI to grow ministry projects throughout Uganda and Kenya; we are grateful for such a generous community.  To read more about the ride, please click here.   (link to: http://santabarbaracentury.org/)
