Please pray for Steve's son Taylor who had a fall today and is currently in the hospital with multiple injuries. We pray for knowledge for the doctors and for quick healing.
Please pray for a family in Forest, VA that lost their entire home including all of their possessions this past weekend. The only thing that was left untouched was the family Bible! We are thankful for the family safely getting out, but pray as they heal and begin to rebuild!
We ask for prayers for Greg and his family. Greg has been diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately it has already taken a toll on his body and health. He will start chemo immediately and we pray he will gain enough strength in the coming weeks to be able to undergo surgery. Please pray for Greg, his wife, children, grandchildren and his doctors for comfort, knowledge and encouragement as they start this journey to we pray, a full recovery!
Please pray for Wes B. who suffered a major heart attack this past Sunday, October 9th. We are unsure if there was any major damage but know that he is still in the hospital.
Please pray for our friend, Angie Shepherd, that was with us during the medical mission to Uganda in February 2015. She is now a full time missionary in Haiti running a medical clinic at Mission of Hope. Hurricane Matthew is hitting Haiti with full force right now and they are expecting mass flooding and destruction of homes, roads, etc. Please pray for the Angie, Mission of Hope, and all of the Haitian people.
Please keep Moses, Sports Outreach Kampala staff member in your prayers over the next few months. He has had trouble with a knee for years and our dear friends at Lipscomb University are trying to find a way to help him receive a surgery to correct it. We will be sure to update everyone with any new information.
While the Brentwood Church team was in Uganda they met a boy named Christopher. Please read the story below and keep him in your prayers as well give thanks to Brentwood Church team who so willingly stepped up to help! As we looked at the boy, we could immediately see that the leg was severely infected to the point that he needed immediate attention. We asked Sports Outreach if there was a doctor nearby and they said the local clinic wouldn’t do anything, so that he would have to go to the hospital. Without knowing whether or not that the boy would be getting treatment, Jason jumped in and offered to clean the wound as the wrapping that was on it was severely torn and the wound was exposed. Without regard to his self, Jason washed the wound, wrapped the wound gently and then we asked if we could pray for the boy and his family. During this prayer, we prayed that the boy would be healed and that treatment would be available. We then talked to Sports outreach about getting this boy to the hospital as we were afraid this boy would die without treatment. Sports Outreach said they would help and we offered to cover the treatment. The staff explained to the grandmother that they would take the boy to the local hospital tomorrow. (UPDATE: Sports Outreach took the boy to the local hospital only to hear that this was severe case and he needed surgery ASAP but they couldn’t afford it, so the boy is being taken Monday to another hospital for the procedure. Our team took up an offering to cover the expenses as without action this boy may lose his life)
Prayer for Christian Albarca who we used to sponsor through Compassion International in El Salvador but he had to leave the program because of pressure from gangs. May the Lord keep him safe and place him in an area where he can once again worship God and be discipled.
Please pray for my James. On Friday, March 11th, he was diagnosed with Cancer, Lymphoma. We do not know much other than a CT scan showed a large mass in his chest. Please pray that as the diagnosis becomes more clear, James' cancer is not severe and that it can be treated quickly and painlessly. He is a very healthy young man with a bright future! Please pray that the Lord blesses him and takes care of him through this process.
Please keep Janine and her family in prayer at this time as her father just passed on to be with his Lord and Savior
