SOI was founded three decades ago when Russ and Sue Carr followed God's call to start a ministry that would reach some of the poorest communities around the world with the love and hope of the Gospel of Jesus through sports ministry and projects or compassion. For over 30 years SOI has been committed to training indigenous leaders in how to reach their communities for Christ.

SOI has grown to over 100 staff members serving in East Africa, Mexico and the U.S. From the slums and villages of Africa to the streets of Mexico and the U.S., leaders are being raised up and trained through SOI programs.

Each day at our ministry sites:

• over 2,500 meals are served
• thousands are provided with clean drinking water
• over 1,000 children receive an education
• children are involved in sports activities
• families receive biblical discipleship as well as job training
• hundreds in need receive medical assistance

This ministry represents a history of God restoring lives and communities by bringing Hope, Life and Healing through Jesus Christ. We strive to restore hope and empower people through sustainable, practical and burden lifting projects at every ministry site.
