OFF-FIELD

Off-Field Initiatives

  • Vocational

Whether it is sewing & tailoring or digital empowerment at our Fashion and Design institute in Kenya or hairdressing and basic utility vehicle manufacturing in Northern and Southern Uganda respectively, our vocational programming empowers individuals with essential skills and support for breaking cycles of poverty and building lasting confidence and independence.

  • Nutritional

It’s been said that no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care. There is, perhaps, no better way to show care and compassion than providing those in need with a consistent meal and source of nutritional support. Jesus said as much when he reminded us that when we feed those in need, we are also serving Him! We care so much about feeding the hungry to help them participate, develop and thrive in every area of life that our “On-Field / Off-Field” vision was essentially the byproduct of a conviction that the hundreds of Ugandan children we were coaching and leading to Christ as a part of our original soccer ministry, didn’t just need to be fed athletically and spiritually, but physically too!

  • Educational

Education programs are one of our “Big 4” off-field initiatives because we really believe that providing value-driven academic opportunities empower children with the tools necessary for breaking cycles of poverty and building brighter futures. For that reason, we are excited to be, both, managing and supporting various schools and educational programs in Mexico, Kenya, South Africa, and Uganda. This includes our new academic partnership with Bringing Miracles, and their Miracle and Victory Center in Kibera, Kenya – a Kindergarten-8th Grade school, which we have recently brought under Sports Outreach’s authority and direction and which has doubled our educational reach in some of the most difficult slums of Kenya.

  • Medical

The Scriptures are clear: Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is one who not only can, but will ultimately heal everything in both soul and body. As those who long to give a foretaste of Jesus’ hope and healing, we desire to provide individuals in remote and underserved communities with critical healthcare services and resources. This includes operating two 24-7 medical facilities serving over 3000 patients per year in Northern and Southern Uganda. Much of the support for these facilities and their staff has come from our Mountains for Medicine initiative – a pairing of high-end athletic performance with a need to lower the 50% morbidity and mortality rate in Uganda.

Off-field humanitarian initiatives

allow us to restore hope and transform lives by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the communities we serve.

Our four-fold focus on nutritional, educational, vocational, and medical initiatives, not only allows us to bring holistic care and support to the communities we serve, but effectively puts “skin” on the Gospel of Jesus Christ; making the hope and transformation of Christ both tangible and practical.
