Sports Outreach Programme Kenya is focused in the notorious Mukuru and Kibera slums in Nairobi. Pastor Juma and his team have many effective works, uniquely designed for this environment and time.
The team’s work includes:
The SWIFT soccer teams for both boys and girls, which provides strong connection, as well as evangelism opportunities
Weekly chess programs are very popular. There are two or three young players who are particularly gifted and winning at the national level
Feeding programs provided in partnership with schools provide hundreds of meals a day for slum children
A computer skills certificate program helps people gain valuable training.
Discipleship groups for HIV-positive women and teenage girls provide meaningful support and encouragement
7,800 people participated in our programs in Kenya in 2023.
Our hope is to find a way to expand the office and classroom space for the ministry, as our current rented building is very small, limiting the number of people Juma and his team can help.
